This website is operated by Craig Aitchison, trading as Land & Light Scottish Mountain Photography. The site is accessible at landandlight.co.uk.

What Data We Collect
This site collects personal information in two places:
- Guestbook — your name, an optional location, and a message.
- Print enquiries — your name, email address, and delivery address when you request a print order.
No account registration is required and no passwords are stored.
Why We Collect It
- Guestbook entries are collected to display publicly on the guestbook page. By submitting an entry you are consenting to it being shown on this site.
- Order details are collected solely to process and fulfil your print order.
Third-Party Services
This site uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase — guestbook entries are stored in Firebase Firestore, a Google Cloud service. Firebase Privacy Policy.
- EmailJS — used to send notification emails to the site owner when a guestbook entry or order is submitted. Your submitted data is passed through EmailJS for this purpose. EmailJS Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google’s servers. This may log your IP address as part of a standard web request. No tracking cookies are set. Google Privacy Policy.
No data is sold, rented, or shared with any third party for marketing purposes.
How Long We Keep Your Data
- Guestbook entries are kept indefinitely unless you request their removal.
- Order details are retained only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the order and comply with any legal obligations, then deleted.
Cookies
This site does not set any tracking or analytics cookies. Google Fonts makes a request to Google’s servers when the page loads, which may be logged by Google as part of normal web traffic.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Request a copy of any personal data held about you
- Ask for inaccurate data to be corrected
- Ask for your data to be deleted
- Object to the processing of your data
To exercise any of these rights, email craigaitchy@hotmail.com. Requests will be handled within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully.
