Rising confidently from sea level to 2900 ft (884 m) the Cobbler is often overlooked by Munro baggers. It remains a substantial mountain however and the warmth of a pleasant summer day at sea level was replaced by a bitingly cold north-westerly wind at altitude. I waited beside the famous rock formation that forms the true summit for the right moment before making the exposure and beating a hasty retreat to find some much needed shelter.
