After some heavy snowfall during the winter of 2010 I made a late accent to the summit of Ben Arthur, more commonly known as The Cobbler. This iconic peak rises to 2900 ft (884m) from sea level and despite falling just short of Munro status it is still a favourite amongst the climbing community. The true summit takes the form of an unusual rock formation, negotiating this tricky outcrop requires a head for heights and a crawl through a natural opening in the rock affectionately known as 'threading the needle'.
