The hills above the northern shore of Loch Tay are well known for cloud inversions, when the summits become islands above a sea of cloud. A landscape that feels entirely apart from the world below. Even Ben Lawers, at 1,214m the tenth highest Munro in Scotland, was barely clear of the inversion this evening. For around thirty seconds, the summit of Meall nan Tarmachan (1,044m) appeared through a break in the cloud before disappearing again. Fortunately, I was already set up and waiting, just in case.
