Loch Etive has many different characters along its length. From its head deep in the mountains of Glen Etive, it stretches for more than twenty miles before narrowing considerably on its approach to the sea at Connel and the Falls of Lora. This photograph was made close to the lower end of the loch at sunset, during a period of slack water when the normally tidal waters had become remarkably still. For a short while there was barely a ripple, allowing the evening sky and surrounding hills to be reflected across the surface.
