Making my way across the arctic mountain plateau of the Cairngorms, I came across some wonderfully sculpted snow formations close to the summit of Ben Macdui. Shaped by wind, these intricate and fragile shapes are known as sastrugi and are indicative of the tremendous winds that relentlessly batter this land.
