The weather between Christmas and New Year had been pretty miserable, so I headed up Ben Lawers, mainly just to get out of the house. I knew the view across to Ben More and Stob Binnein was a good one, so I kept a close eye on what was happening behind me as I climbed. About halfway up I turned around and this moment appeared. I stopped immediately, dropped everything and set the camera up as quickly as I could, knowing it probably wouldn’t last long. Most of my photographs are planned well in advance, but occasionally something just happens in front of you.
