Despite its imposing appearance Beinn Alligin is actually a fairly straightforward prospect. Thanks to a natural horseshoe formation its two principal summits can be easily gained in a single traverse that offers stunning views of the northwestern seaboard and beyond to Wester Ross. Looking east from the summit of Sgurr Mor the warm evening light is in sharp contrast to the depth of shadow in the glen below, an indication of just how steep sided and dramatic this part of the landscape can be.
